Finally, a new OS statue will join the likes of previous Google Android operating systems Froyo, Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat. The sculpture of going to be released Android 5.0 Lollipop will be added at Google’s headquarters Building 44 Mountain View California USA. Yes, you heard right. Google’s Android that dominates across 85% of world’s smartphones will be releasing. It’s next edition in the list of Android OSes. It will be a 13th big release in the line of Android OS updates.
However, the first major release under the newly appointed senior vice president at Google, Sunder Pichai. He is also the confidant of Google CEO Larry Page and became the head of Android operations last year. With Android L, Pichai geared up to release three latest device offerings from Google that also includes the jumbo size Nexus 6 smartphone with a giant 6 inch screen size manufactured by Motorola Mobility (MMI). What makes this OS different is the materialistic design that will provide with a much cleaner user experience with the help of fluid user interface and a refined multitasking menu.
Now there will be multiple ways for users to utilize their voice. Android L is highly capable to run even on low memory devices such as 512 MB RAM. This means that even the cheapest phones from India and China will be fully capable to run Lollipop packed with whole lot of features. It will have shifting font sizes, moving icons, and more such features. In addition, it will make a first attempt to unify different devices based on Android that even includes a unique set top box that will have the capability of television hosting web videos.
Most of the functionalities already declared at the Google’s I/O conference wherein Android L made a debut. Most recent addition among new features is a brand new battery saving mode. When the mode activated, users will be able to save over 90 minutes battery life. Although already present on a bunch of manufacturer’s devices, this will be core Android’s firsthand experience.
Moreover, Android Lollipop will include a guest user mode in addition to multiple user accounts. Even the device secured through safe Bluetooth connections. As per the announcement, the OS will debut with devices such as Nexus Player, Nexus 9, and Nexus 6. Gradually it will launch with Google Play devices, Nexus 10, Nexus 7, and Nexus 5. After Google, all other manufacturers will come into play with their devices loaded with Android L. Especially Motorola, who will be rolling out the Android L updates as well as devices pretty quick than others. The Motorola devices that you can expect loaded with Android Lollipop will be first & second generation Moto handsets such as Moto E, Moto G with inbuilt 4G, Moto G devices, and Moto X devices.
Quoted by the company official, “Once Android 5.0 Lollipop is officially released; we intend to bring this latest upgrade to many of our other Motorola devices.” Adding further they said, “We are still working out the details on timing and the upgrade depends on our partners support so stay tuned to our software upgrades page for the latest and greatest.”
