The Problem

Healthcare systems are fragmented — and patients pay the price.

Clinicians spend hours hunting for records. Payers and providers operate in silos. Real-time decisions get made on incomplete data. We fix that.

Data Silos

Patient data trapped across EHRs, labs, imaging systems, and payers — never in one place at the right time.

Manual Workflows

Fax machines, PDF attachments, and manual data entry introduce delays, transcription errors, and compliance gaps.

Poor Patient Experience

Patients repeat their history at every visit. Providers make decisions without access to prior test results or medications.

Slow Decisions

Without real-time data, providers rely on stale records — delaying diagnoses, treatments, and critical clinical decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Healthcare interoperability is the ability of different health IT systems, devices, and applications to access, exchange, and cooperatively use clinical and administrative data. True interoperability means data flows in real time, in a structured format, across any system — not just exported as PDFs or manually re-entered.

FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) is the modern standard for healthcare data exchange, mandated by ONC and CMS. It uses REST APIs and JSON/XML, making it far easier to integrate than legacy HL7 v2. Every major EHR — Epic, Cerner, Oracle Health — now exposes FHIR R4 APIs, and FHIR R5 adds even more capability for clinical data exchange.

Most production FHIR integrations with major EHRs (Epic, Cerner, Athena) go live in 6–10 weeks using our pre-built connector library. HL7 v2 integrations using Mirth Connect or similar engines typically take 4–8 weeks depending on message volume and transformation complexity.

Yes. Peerbits designs payer and provider API implementations to meet CMS 9115-F interoperability rule requirements — including Patient Access API, Provider Directory API, and Prior Authorization API (CMS-0057-F) with Da Vinci implementation guide conformance.

Yes. We have production experience with Epic's FHIR R4 APIs, App Orchard registration, MyChart integration, CDS Hooks, and SMART on FHIR embedded app launch. We also work with Epic's non-FHIR APIs and have navigated Epic's security review process for multiple clients.

HL7 v2 is a pipe-delimited message format from the 1980s, still used in labs, ADT feeds, and pharmacy systems. FHIR is a modern REST API standard using JSON/XML with structured resources. We handle both — and often build FHIR facades over HL7 v2 systems so modern apps can consume legacy data through standardized APIs.
